ANNOUNCEMENT

International Property Law Conference, Stellenbosch

On 5 and 6 April 2005, the International Property Law Conference will be hosted by the Law Faculty of Stellenbosch University. The conference will consist of a series of sessions, organised into four streams:

Stream I: Land reform and housing – organised by Prof Juanita Pienaar

Stream II: Constitutional property and property theory – organised by Prof A.J. van der Walt

Stream III: Land registration and alternatives to conventional landownership – organised by Prof Hanri Mostert

Stream IV: Property in Civil Law and Common Law – organised by Prof C.G. van der Merwe

We are awaiting proposals for papers to be read at the conference. The closing date for the submission of proposals is 10 November 2004. Proposals will be refereed. Successful papers may eventually be published in an essay compilation by the conference organisers.
