The Congress is intended to be a starting point for in-depth reflection on an issue which in all likelihood will be of fundamental importance for worldwide Organisations (UNIDROIT, Hague Conference on Private International Law, UNCITRAL and others) in the foreseeable future. Representatives of international Organisations as well as Regional Economic Integration Organisations and Member States’ Governments will be invited to discuss these issues with scholars and practitioners.

Le Congrès propose d’engager une réflexion de fond sur un sujet qui revêt une importance croissante pour les organisations universelles – UNIDROIT, la Conférence de La Haye de droit international privé, la CNUDCI et d’autres. Des représentants d’organisations internationales et d’organisations d’intégration économique régionale ainsi que de Gouvernements des Etats membres seront invités à débattre ces questions avec des universitaires et des praticiens.

COMMUNICATIONS

Participants are welcome to submit communications, which will be considered by the Scientific Committee in view of their distribution at the Congress and, possibly, of their publication in the Acts and Proceedings. Papers (20,000 characters max., in English or French) dealing with substantive matters related to one of the topics of the Congress are to reach the UNIDROIT Secretariat by 6 September 2002.

Les participants qui le souhaitent peuvent soumettre des communications, qui seront examinées par le comité scientifique en vue de leur distribution au Congrès et, le cas échéant, leur reproduction dans les Actes. Les communications, d’une longueur maximum de 20.000 caractères et rédigées en anglais ou en français, doivent traiter de questions de fond en rapport avec l’un des thèmes du Congrès et parvenir au Secrétariat d’UNIDROIT avant le 6 septembre 2002.

The Congress registration fee of 150 Euro covers participation in all Congress sessions, a copy of the Acts and Proceedings, a buffet dinner on Saturday 28 September 2002 and all coffee and tea breaks. The registration form is to be returned to UNIDROIT before 31 August 2002.
