The General Reporter on Property Law for the XVIIth International Congress of Comparative Law invited comment to a questionnaire that asked about a wide range of property types, the definition of which was based on Roman law. This paper explains how such a taxonomy does not fit the heterogeneous process of handling property rights in England.
